Kaya's bottom lip quivered as the toad croaked at her. She stuck her tongue out at it, her eyes shut tightly. Apparently it didn't like her. She stood up straight, a blush over her nose from doing something so childish. She blinked a few times as he said he would help her with shuriken use.
"Oh, thank you, Jiraiya-sama!" Kaya giggled, a smile upon her face. "None of the medic nin have seemed to think that we have enough money to pay for it. Papa has tried to use his medical jutsu, but he actually made it worse when I was six. So now I have to do stretches to get it better."
Kaya winced when she felt Jiraiya examining her arm. She yanked it away, holding it with her right hand as tears welled up in her eyes.
"That hurt!"

Jiraiya looked at her for a moment and sighed. He reached into his pouch and pulled out a small book. it was entitled The Shuriken Class He stood up and set it on her desk and looked at her for a moment.
"Alright. Kaya I want you to read this book."
He said with a stern face as he looked at her and waited on her response.

Kaya followed Jiraiya back to her desk, rubbing her elbow with a bit of pain in her eyes. She wiped the blue orbs, squinting them shut. She sat down, and opened the book with her right hand, her left arm dangling at her side, of no use to her whatsoever.
"Okay..." Kaya looked up at him. "Sorry for yelling. No one's ever touched my arm before. Except the bullies that think I'm a freak. I tell them it was an accident when I was born. And it was!"
Kaya smiled at the book, leaning over and propping her head up with her right hand, humming as she read, kicking her feet back and forth. She looked over the diagrams, and read the pages she was on over and over, trying to digest all the information.
Can Jiraiya-sama really help me with my Shuriken problem? Can he really help me get my arm fixed? I'll have to learn how to use it more! Kaya thought, but turned her focus back onto the book.

Jiraiya kneeled down by Kaya's desk and was speaking to Gama. The toad nodded and hopped out of the classroom and left for a while. Jiraiya stood up and walked back behind the desk and sat down. He sighed and looked the girl over and shook his head.
"Don't worry about it."

Kaya looked up, her face set with determination. She gave a grin, her one missing tooth showing completely. She looked as if she were still nine, yet she was twelve. She was about to graduate, too. She was excited about that. To be just like her father and mother, and be able to go on missions as well.
"Jiraiya-sama...wants it like...y'know...to be a Sannin?"

"It doesn't feel much different than being a jounin... except you have more knowledge about jutsu and the lives of shinobi."
He said as he sighed and looked at Gama as he came in with two medic-nins. He stood up and walked out of the classroom with them and starts to converse with them about what he needed.

Kaori hummed at this. More knowledge of jutsu and shinobi? Well, she wanted to be just like him! She wanted to help students like her one day! Or would she have to become a Chuunin teacher for that? She shrugged her right shoulder, and went back to her book, not even noticing the medic nin, just Gama.
"Hi, toad! Do you have a name?" Kaya's attention span was obviously short-lived at the sight of a living creature. "How does Jiraiya-sama get you out of a jutsu? Oh, yeah! A Summoning Jutsu! I totally forgot about those! So cool!"

Jiraiya and the medic ninja walked into the classroom after discussing a few things. The head medic kneeled in front of Kaya and did a few hand seals before his hands started glowing green. He touched Kaya's arm, and she couldn't feel the doctor, it was as if when he made contact it numbed her arm as he started to heal her arm temporarily.
Jiraiya nodded to the medic and walked out of the classroom stopping at the door. He sighed and turned around and looked at Kaya and smiled.
"Alright. I'm going to go and check on a few things. Kaya these men will heal your arm for the day so that we can get some work done. I'll be back soon."
He said as Gama disappeared in a puff of smoke and he walked out of the classroom towards the streets. What is he doing here...

Kaya yelped at the sight of the green glow. She was about to pull away, when she saw her arm felt number. She smiled up at Jiraiya, her eyes full of 'I believe in you!'. She was a strong, twelve-year-old. And she was about to be free of her terrible pain and curse!
"Hi! I'm Kaya Emi!" Kaya said to the medic nin, her eyes shining. "What're your names? I wanted to be a medic nin, but with my Kekkai Genki, I think it'd be best if I became a kunoichi that could fight...it would be a waste if I couldn't use my ice kunai all the time!"
Kaya frowned when Gama disappeared. She was hoping he would talk to her. Apparently he didn't. She looked down at her book and began to flip through it with her other arm, but decided she would watch them instead.
"How does healing work? It looks so strange...and how can you heal my joints to work properly?"

The man looked at Kaya with a kind smile that would warm anyone's heart as he pushed his glasses back on his face and looked back to her arm as he continued to work. He thought of a way to explain the medical jutsu to her and shook his head.
"Well little one. Its a basic healing jutsu, but... it would be complicated for a student to learn, but I'll tell you. Its a special modification of your chakra that would be used for recuperation instead of destruction. Every shinobi can do it... it just depends on if you want to walk that path."
He said as he stood up finishing her arm. He looked at her and smiled nodding to her. He looked around and still didn't see Jiraiya or his toads. He must have encountered him. He thought as he smiled to her.
"Well... You are dismissed for the day. Jiraiya-sama told me that if I had finished before he got back than.. you should be taken home."

Kaya felt as though she could trust this man with her entire life. She giggled, listening to him intently. She thought for a bit - would she want to be a medic kunoichi? It would be easier - seeing as nowadays three man squads were trying to have medic nin on the team. She blinked.
"It doesn't hurt anymore!" Kaya gasped. She slowly moved her arm, twisting about like she did with her other one in kunai practice. She giggled, a bright smile on her face. "I can move my arm! Oh, thank you! Wait! Where's Jiraiya-sama?"
Kaya then realized that no one else had come to class except her. She picked up her book, and then looked with confusion as the man kept smiling at her. Her smile had slid down her face, into a frown. Her blue eyes sparkled with worry.
"Taken home? But my home is just a block away...is something wrong in the village?"

The man smiled and looked at the girl and walked back over to her after signing a few papers that a couple of kunoichi had brought to him. He kneeled down and got eye level with her and smiled.
"No need to worry. Master Jiraiya is fine... and he's just very protective of his students is all."
He said as he stood up and walked over to the door and opened it. He turned around and looked at the young girl seeing that she was excited about her arm and motioned her to come over.
"Come now. We need to get you home. That isn't permanent though. You'd need treathment every other day if you'd like us to heal it permanantly."

Kaya blinked in confusion. She nodded, her ninja sandals clacking against the floor as she hurried to catch up with the medic nin. She didn't do much but just continue to follow him obediently. Yet at the news of always having to have every other day treatment, Kaya felt even worse.
"Oh..." Kaya murmured, looking down. "How long will it take for my arm to be better? I hope it is before the exams...because I want to pass with flying colors! I want to become one of the best kunoichi, like Tsunade-sama!"

The man chuckled at her enthusiasm and walked out of the door with her and out of the academy. He walked through the courtyard and slowly made his way to the gate. The sun beamed down onto his head as he sighed feeling the heat. He looked down at Kaya with a smile and looked back at the dirt path into the village.
"Well... it depends. If you truly want your arm healed we can excuse you from school one day next week and we'll work on it. The operation will take at least a half hour. Hm, Tsunade-sama huh? Well... you've got some pretty big shoes to fill."
He said with a smile and laughing as he walked through the village with the girl.

Kaya followed, hopping from one foot to the other as she did so, skipping puddles and such from the rains the week before. She giggled as she saw a tiny frog leap after her, following suite.
"Oh, that would be lovely! Thank you!" Kaya giggled, and looked up at the medic nin with a confused look when he said she had some big shoes to fill. "I know I do...but I want to be the best! At least in the village! I want to make my family's name known, and I want to prove to the world that I can be strong!"
Kaya waved to some of the villagers, who waved back, smiling at the happy child. They saw her arm, and nodded. She was finally getting the treatment she needed.
